Friends is grateful to accept gifts which help us with our mission and purpose in supporting the youth and families in Watts.

Volunteer Your Time

Friends would love to have you join our very dedicated volunteers who contribute over 2700 service hours each year. Without their support, Friends could not even begin to serve the approximately 850 individuals who turn to us for help.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Mentor high school students

  • Tutor Students

  • Provide legal services

  • Prepare income taxes

  • Converse in English with ESL students

Mentor a Teen

Our Mentoring Program matches Watts' high schoolers with an adult volunteer who can share their knowledge and help guide the student through their formative years.  

Studies show that youth from neighborhoods like Watts are twice as likely to attend college when they have a mentor.
